The Starbird! Dance/Movement Workshop

Our Starbird Dance/Movement workshop is a fun fun 3 hour session that combines dance, movement, storytelling and puppetry as we explore the story Starbird, written by Sharon King-Chai. Starbird is an original fable about love, freedom, and the wisdom of children, who are able to see more clearly than the adults around them.

The participants will go through the story with a combination of movement exploration, creating individual and group movement phrases, learning choreography and interacting with puppetry. We will also use visual art as starting points for movement and as a way of responding and creating movement ideas from the story.

No previous dance experience is required.

For as long as he could remember the Moon King had known the story of the legendary Starbird. There was only one Starbird – the beautiful and enchanted creature whose song wove the most magical dreams.  An original folk tale by Sharon King-Chai

Cost: £20 per child

Parents/Carers are invited into the last 15 minutes of the session to watch a work-in-progress retelling of the story.
